Mud Muse

The piece documented in this video is Rauschenberg's Mud Muse. It is a rectangle vat of literal mud which bubbles and gurgles - activated by air pushed up from valves underneath the mud. This piece was the culmination of Rauschenberg's long interest in engaging with cutting edge technology and incorporating it into his work.
